In this session, teachers will learn how Securly Classroom can support digital classroom management and help keep students focused during online learning activities. Participants will explore the basics of finding and managing classes, viewing student screens, guiding students to specific websites, and using tools that support on-task behavior. Teachers will learn how to keep students on specific websites by setting up "Alow Lists." We will discuss practical ways to use Securly Classroom to monitor student progress, reduce distractions, and create a more focused digital learning environment. This session bridges the gap between state-level guidance and classroom reality. We will explore the Indigenous Peoples and Nations of Kansas document as a roadmap for intentional resource selection. A highlight of the session will include a virtual guest lecture via Zoom by UVU Professor Dezi Lynn, who will provide expert modeling of book reviews.Following the presentation,educators will collaborate on book reviews for various grade bands (k-12) using the NIEA Rubric. In this workshop, participants will set the foundation for creating a thinking classroom culture. By incorporating these strategies into our teaching practice,we can maximize engagement and thinking as well as create a classroom environment that nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
